Services Marine Benthic Surveys & Assessments

CECOS has a team of trained and experienced marine biologists and scientific divers with broad field and analytical capabilities to assist you in a wide range of marine environmental services. Members of our staff have completed university-level coursework in the fields of marine biology and coastal zone management, and are highly experienced in performing underwater sampling and monitoring using transects and quadrats, and conducting fish censuses using various methodologies.

Our staff is extremely knowledgeable about the taxonomy of major benthic and submerged vegetation, and has strong experience with analytical software. CECOS has conducted a diverse range of marine environment assessments and monitoring projects in compliance with numerous rules, regulations and guidelines at the state and federal levels. Many of these assessments have been accomplished for the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and permitting purposes, and have involved threatened and endangered species evaluation, essential fish habitat evaluation, and the evaluation of managed species.

We will use our experience and depth of knowledge to develop the best and most cost-effective approach for each Client. We understand the regulatory environment and will develop solutions for your coastal andmarine projects.

Description of Work: FDOT conducted Project Development and Environment (PD&E) studies on the replacement of two separate bridge projects that are located in Palm Beach County, Florida. These include the Flagler Memorial Bridge and the Southern Boulevard Bridges (Bascule and Tide Relief Bridge).

Description of Work: This project involved reconstruction of Segment III of the Broward County Shore Protection Project, located between Port Everglades and the Broward /Miami-Dade County line. The project fill area in Segment III was approximately 6.8 miles in length. The project provided beach renourishment for the majority of the Segment III shoreline including John U. Lloyd State Park, Dania Beach, and the Hollywood/ Hallandale shorelines.
